Vaughan Williams: Tuba Concerto
    with Thomas Gregory, tuba
Delius: Brigg Fair
Grieg: Norwegian Dances
 
Haydn and Grieg each visited England twice and Grieg was a strong influence on the music of Delius. Vaughan Williams was one of England’s great Nationalists. Come hear the musical connection in this exciting program.

The music of Beethoven certainly influenced his followers while the Post-Romantic music of Bruckner was itself an influence on Samuel Barber.

Hindemith: Symphonic Metamorphoses
 
Wagner was 18 when Beethoven died and Hindemith based his 20th century composition on another of their contemporaries.

Don’t miss Tchaikovsky’s only work for solo cello and orchestra as well as Bizet’s music from “The Girl from Arles” and two rarely performed works by Gabrieli and Beethoven.
